Far Cry 5 will allow you to play its single-player campaign offline, Ubisoft has confirmed during a chat with GameSpot.
While this means the game won’t force you to connect to the Internet to play solo, you’ll obviously require net access if you want to sample Far Cry 5’s cooperative mode and multiplayer offerings.
Elsewhere, microtransactions will also be included in the open-world action-adventure game, but pleasingly they’re only cosmetic and do not affect gameplay whatsoever. These items will reportedly be featured in the single-player, co-op, and multiplayer modes for Far Cry 5.
‘We’ve set the game up to be generous,’ commented Ubisoft’s Dan Hay. ‘We’ve set the game up so…nothing is locked [away]. You can go out and explore, and the game will reward you for your exploration.’
Far Cry 5 is due for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on March 27. Be sure to have a butcher’s at the latest live-action trailer for a glimpse at the sequel’s resident Big Bad, Joseph Seed.
