Far Cry 3’s cooperative campaign will be extended in January with the release of the High Tides DLC pack, exclusively on PS3 for console gamers, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have announced.

Picking up where the original six cooperative chapters left off, Jailbreak and Redemption are described as the “best of the best” by Massive writer Meghan Watt.

You can look forward to new missions, tougher fights, bigger competitions, some up-close time with your favourite characters, and explosive moments unlike anything you’ve seen before.

The wording of the announcement suggests the content will also be coming to PC, but Xbox gamers are out of luck. Sony’s deal with Ubisoft was announced back at E3.

There’s no word on pricing at this time.
