Mediatonic has confirmed what we probably knew at this point, but Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout‘s promised Xbox and Nintendo Switch ports won’t arrive this year.

The confirmation was spotted by Eurogamer in a post celebrating the game’s latest Season Six update. It reads: “We know everyone’s excited about Fall Guys coming to Nintendo Switch and Xbox, with good reason. There’s been a lot of speculation on social media connecting these new console releases to the Season 6 launch and we want to clarify that that’s not the case so no one’s left confused looking for the game on these platforms.”

The studio thanked fans for their patience, and added the ports are “one of our top priorities in active development”. Fingers crossed, they intend to share more details on the Xbox and Switch versions of the game in 2022.

Mediatonic first announced their intention to bring Fall Guys to Nintendo Switch and Xbox all the way back in February. At the time, it was hoped to launch in Summer of 2021. Plans were adjusted when the game and developer were snapped up by Epic Games a couple of months later.

Just this week, Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout saw the launch of Season Six. Alongside all the new Party Spectacular content you can read about here, the update also added crossplay between the PlayStation and PC versions of the game. This functionality will be in the new versions, which was the reason given for the delay back in April.
