EA & Codemasters have dropped a new trailer to showcase some of the new gameplay features in EA Sports F1 22.

This year’s iteration will include some major redesigns to the car models to reflect similar changes in the real world F1. To that end then, F1 22 will include a brand new physics, handling and tyre models in the series. There’ll also be an appearance from the brand new F1 Sprint races, making their video game debut for the first time and will determine the starting grid between Qualifying and the Sunday race.

Fixing up your car to keep it in peak racing condition will also be a big part of this year’s game. Pit stops will now be interactive, and the timing of you entering the pits can even effect things like your pit crew making unintentional errors. Formation laps, meanwhile, might get you an extra boost at the start of the race if you position your car just right ahead of the first turn.

Away from the track, the new F1 Life social hub will be your racing home-away-from-home. Here’s where you’ll show off your trophies, fashion, accessories and more as you personalise your driver how you see fit. You’ll be able to earn more stuff through regular in-game challenges, and the game’s Podium Pass. The F1 Life area will also act as the game’s multiplayer lobby too.

All this, plus a bunch of circuit changes to make sure everything’s up to date with the real world F1, and the PC version will also include an all new VR mode. You can check out all these features in the F1 22 gameplay trailer below. EA Sports F1 22 arrives in a month’s time on July 1 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
