EA and Codemasters have lifted the lid on EA Sports F1 22 as previously promised, which will be taking off from the start line this July.

The announcement touts this entry as the “biggest shake-up for over a decade” for the series. To that end, this new entry will include new hybrid cars and overhauled rules including the addition of F1 Sprint races. Naturally, players will get to experience the 2022 F1 calendar, which will also include the Miami Grand Prix for the first time.

Another new addition this year is the F1 Hub, which will be a new customisable space for players. Here’s where players will be able to show off their collection of supercars, clothing and accessories they can earn during gameplay. In addition to that, the team has updated the physics and tyre models to make handling more true to life.

Players will also have more options when it comes to race day, allowing them to pick from Immersive and Broadcast modes. Immersive offers risk-reward challenges, pushing even the most experienced drivers to their limit. Meanwhile, Broadcast promises to add a cinematic touch to heighten the drama. A new adaptive AI will also help ease newer fans into the world of F1.

There’s a bunch of improvements to returning features too, such as My Team and the comeback of the ten-year Career mode. As a new addition, however, PC players will also be able to enjoy VR functionality to really get to feel what it’s like to be behind the wheel if they have an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive headset.

Check out a short tease below, EA Sports F1 22 arrives July 1 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
