It’s been confirmed that Capcom have plenty in store of players of sci-fi dinosaur shooter following the Exoprimal release date later this week, including a crossover with publisher stablemate Monster Hunter.

The collaboration was revealed as part of an Exoprimal Showcase event that took place last night, offering up some new final details on the shooter’s post-launch plans before it releases on consoles and PC later this week. Capcom revealed that the game will indeed get in-game seasons lasting three months, with title updates coming along with each season to add new content and more. Of course, it’ll also mean a refresh of the game’s Survival Pass.

The first of these seasons will be available from launch day, and there’ll be a brand new game mode known as Savage Gauntlet, which will drop just two weeks later on July 28. This will be followed by Title Update 1 on the August 16, which will itself feature a new set of 10 Alpha Variant Exosuits. A roadmap then revealed what’s in store in the coming months, including a couple of Capcom Collaborations.

The first of these will arrive in mid-October, and will feature the previously-announced crossover with Street Fighter 6. There’ll also be “new rigs and modules, a new map, a new final mission and more.” Season 3 follows in January 2024, and along with the Beta variant suits and Neo Triceratops, will bring with it the aforementioned Monster Hunter collaboration, although at this stage Capcom is keeping what exactly this mashup will entail under wraps.

Capcom promise there’ll be more to come for Exoprimal following these first three seasons, but of course are keeping a watch on how these first seasons do before they reveal what will be in store beyond Season 3. Monster Hunter seems like the most logical collaboration thus far of course, given it already stars giant monsters. We’ll have to wait and see if any other Capcom games make the jump.

In the meantime, Exoprimal is set to launch this Friday, July 14 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. Exoprimal will also be available on launch via Xbox Game Pass.
