Evil Dead: The Game offers up more details on its enemies and characters

Publisher Saber Interactive has offered fans a little more insight into upcoming multiplayer horror title Evil Dead: The Game.

The information comes by the way of a PlayStation blog post, detailing the asymmetric offering. As previously established, the game sees you team with up to three friends as heroes from the Evil Dead franchise. As an addition, it seems the promised single player option will also allow you to team up with AI instead.

Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits confirms you’ll be able to play as multiple versions of series hero Ash Williams. These include his younger self from the original trilogy, or the wizened Deadite slaying veteran from the TV series Ash vs Evil Dead. Kelly Maxwell and Pablo Simon Bolivar from the same TV series will also appear, as will movie characters like Lord Arthur from the third movie and Ash’s sister Cheryl from the first movie.

Some brand new information came on the Deadite side, however. We already knew we’d be playing as the Kandarian Demon who can take on various forms. However, we now know players will get to choose from one of three demons at the start of the game. The first of these has been revealed as Henrietta from Evil Dead II. Each demon will have the base power to summon Deadites, but will also have unique abilities and attributes to themselves. As to what Henritta’s powers are, however, we’ll have to wait a little longer.

In the meantime, a new brief trailer showcasing pre-order bonuses has gone live. Those who grab the game early will be able to get Ash’s S-Mart Employee Outfit and Gallant Knight Outfit from Army of Darkness. You can check that out below.

Evil Dead: The Game lands on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC on Friday, May 13.
