FromSoftware recently dropped new promotional artwork for its upcoming Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. But instead of a quick look at a monstrous boss or another area to explore, the image involved a behind-the-helmet look at a new NPC. And predictably enough, it’s gained a ton of traction over the past day, though not for the reasons you might think.

For those unfamiliar, the latest graphic in question depicts a Knight Lady holding a sword aloft while cradling her helmet. Though her involvement in the DLC’s story remains unclear, eagle-eyed fans immediately noticed that the silhouette of her helmet matched that of the kneeling knight shown towards the end of the expansion’s story trailer. Some speculate that she’ll be the one to help guide players into the land of shadows. Others, however, are focusing on her…physical appearance instead.

Over on Reddit, players are simping over the newly introduced blonde Knight Lady in Elden Ring, with u/Linksobi already pledging their undying service to the as-yet-unnamed NPC. Similarly, u/ButterscotchLess9851 said she is “just another Fromsoft woman I would die for.” Of course, romantic opportunities in the war-torn setting of the Lands Between are often hard to come by, so it’s hard to blame these players for their infatuation.

Unfortunately, if the base game’s previous encounters are any indicator, your time with her will likely only end in tragedy. After all, she might turn out to be one of the bosses you need to fight to progress through the game à la Rennala. Of course, this is merely speculation, so while you wait for the Elden Ring DLC’s Knight Lady to grace your screen, check out when the Shadow of the Erdtree release date will be so you know when it drops. Alternatively, you can also take a look at the Shadow of the Erdtree preorder bonuses instead.
