From Software has announced the release date for its eagerly anticipated Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree.

At the end of a promised Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree gameplay trailer, the date was confirmed for the expansion – along with a bunch of huge bosses that players will no doubt have their work cut out for them when they take them on in x amount of time

Let’s take a look at what we know.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC release date

The release date for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is June 21st, 2024 – as revealed during the adventure’s debut gameplay trailer.

Elden Ring first came out in February 2022 and it sold 20 million copies in just one year. It took over the gaming world with the trademark FromSoftware brutal difficulty but with the added element of a gorgeous and gigantic open-world completely free to explore. FromSoftware delighted everyone when they confirmed the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC expansion, but all was quiet for several months until now.

Elden Ring Shadows of the Erdtree will include a brand new area for players to explore known as the Land of Shadow. You’ll be able to travel freely between both the new map and the old one, and of course there’ll be plenty of new weapons, equipment, weapon skills and magic.

The trailer also confirmed a number of Shadows of the Erdtree bonus editions, including a bunch of goodies for those who want to go that little bit further, including a statue of Messmer the Impaler -you can read up more on those over here.
