Unravel, a new physics-based puzzle platformer from Scandinavian studio Coldwood Interactive, has been announced by EA.

In Unravel you play as Yarny, a tiny new character made from a single thread of yarn that slowly unravels as you move.

Yarny will have to traverse nature’s obstacles inspired by the environments of Northern Scandinavia.

The game’s story promises to pull at your heartstrings, reconnecting the memories of a long lost family. The tale is told completely without words, and Yarny is the bond that ties everything together.

“I wanted to make something more personal, something with more impact. The game didn’t have to change the world, or even try, but it had to be genuine, it had to have a deeper meaning. It had to have heart,” said Martin Sahlin, creative director at Coldwood Interactive.

There’s no word on a release date, but the game will be downloadable on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
