Electronic Arts has said, in an investors call, that it has an unannounced “major IP” and a remake coming early 2023.
EA put out an update on its slate of releases, as part of its latest earnings report, and there looks to be four games arriving between January and April 1st, 2023. EA described these as a “Major IP”, a “Remake,” a “Partner Title,” and a “Sports Title.”
We know that there is a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on the way. So that could be the “Partner Title” or the “Major IP.” The remake possibly refers to Dead Space, which is apparently coming out in early 2023. EA Motive is developing that game, which is reason enough to be excited. Motive recently worked on Star Wars Squadrons.
The “Sports Title” could be lots of stuff. UFC, College Football, who knows. But let’s pretend that it will definitely be a new Skate or a new Fight Night. And then start getting unreasonably excited!
In other recent EA news, the company has ended its relationship with FIFA, after thirty years, and is going its own way. The next football game, after FIFA 23, will be entitled EA Sports FC. That is a funny name.
