EA and Namco have announced that they will co-publish ‘We Love Katamari’ in European territories. The game will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 2 early in 2006 and sees the return of prince and more insane rolling action (it is the second game in the series, but the first game wasn’t released in Europe).

At last, the time has come for our fans in Europe to enjoy We ♥ Katamari,” said Keita Takahashi, the game’s Director at Namco. “I am so excited about this! Basically, this is a silly game that doesn’t involve a whole lot of thinking, but if you will just laugh and sing along as you roll, roll and roll, I’m sure you will find it to be a lot of fun.”

If you’ve been unaware of the game to this point, it’s essentially about rolling a huge Katamari (a big ball) around various colourful environments, picking up objects from the environment as you roll and increasing the size of the Katamari. It sounds crazy, and it pretty much is.

The news that EA will co-publish the title in Europe will no doubt cause many fans of the game to shriek in horror, but in reality, it means more people will get to play one of the most unique games ever made, which is surely a good thing.
