KOEI Tecmo has announced that the demo for upcoming tactical action game Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires is out today.

As a brief reminder, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires adds new strategic war elements to the series. The game sees you lead your armies on a quest to take over ancient China through a series of battles. You’ve got all the hack and slash action on the battlefield the series is famed for, plus a bunch of new stuff too.

These include the new castle sieges, for which you’ll have to play both defence and as the invading forces. You’ll get a chance to try them out in the demo, which includes a full tutorial to help you get to grips with the new mechanics. You’ll also get to get your hands on the game’s Edit Mode, to customise your officers how you see fit. Any characters you make can also be transferred to the full game upon release.

There’s not long to go now before the full game lands either, with it currently set to arrive on February 15. The Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires demo is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The full game will be available on the PC and Google Stadia too.
