A spinoff game in the Fire Emblem series is on the way for Nintendo Switch, entitled Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

This outing is pitched as a “different story” but set in the universe established in 2019’s Fire Emblem: Three Houses. We’re back in the land of Fodlan, ruled by three factions; the Adrestian Empire, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus & Leicester Alliance.

We’re promised real-time combat in which you’ll unleash devastating combos against your foes. Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude return, and you’ll be able to slash, swing and shoot as each of them. Expect plenty of axes, spears and swords to defeat your enemies with. It’s a Musou game, so also expect to see loads of enemies on screen at any one time.

Essentially, it seems it’s what Hyrule Warriors was to Breath of the Wild but for the Fire Emblem universe. It’s not the first time we’ve seen such a spinoff, as Fire Emblem Warriors did a similar thing for the original Fire Emblem series back in 2017.

We’ll get to see how well it works when Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes arrives on the Nintendo Switch on June 24. For now, check out the game’s first trailer for yourself down below.
