Best clear some space on the schedule, as developer Techland has claimed Dying Light 2: Stay Human will take 500 hours to fully complete.

The claim was made via the game’s official Twitter account, comparing the time to walk from Warsaw to Madrid at 534 hours. As you can imagine, this sparked a lot of debate about the length of games, and respecting a player’s time.

Said debate prompted the Polish studio to issue a clarification to the claim.  “500 hours is related to maxing out the game – finishing all the quests, endings, and exploring every part of the world,” Techland said in a follow-up tweet. “But a regular player should finish the story + side quests and do quite a lot of exploring in less than 100 hours, so don’t worry!”

It was announced last week that the studio would  be offering up its final Dying 2 Know broadcast on Thursday evening. The regular video series has been detailing for fans what they can expect in the open world zombie game since it was re-revealed last year following a long period of silence. Then, the game itself will finally be in our hands in just a few short weeks later.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human arrives on February 4 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch via the Cloud.
