Activision have today announced DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil; an expansion pack for id Software’s recently released FPS. The expansion will feature new single player levels, new monsters and more multiplayer maps, this time supporting up to eight players.

Perhaps more exciting news for fans of Doom is the return of the double-barrelled shotgun. Details of other new weapons haven’t been revealed. The expansion is being co-developed by id and Nerve Software and will require the original game in order to run. The release date and price haven’t been released, neither has any news on this expansion being included in the Xbox port of the game, but we will let you know as soon as we get any more information.
