Diablo 4 has undoubtedly been a huge success for Blizzard since its initial pre-release betas and full release on June 6, 2023, but players have been frustrated at how tedious the gameplay can get when grinding for renown during Diablo 4’s endgame.
Taking to the Diablo 4 Reddit WardenWithABlackJack shared their experience of grinding for renown after collecting all the rewards in all five regions saying, “It f***ing sucked. I’m fresh meat to the Diablo games and am thoroughly enjoying my journey to get a level 100 sorcerer before moving on to a Barbarian or Druid (convince me which is more fun). But having to go around doing boring-ass side quests instead of progressing in nightmare dungeons and properly levelling was soul-sucking but 20 paragon points is massive to miss out on. Please for the love of Lilith have renown carry over in seasons.”
This sentiment was overwhelmingly shared by fellow players with many commenters putting forward solutions for what Blizzard could do to help address this issue. xGenocidest noted that ” All they [Blizzard] have to do is make Events, Legions/World Bosses give Renown, maybe extra renown for events during Helltide And have Lilith statues one time only for all future seasons. You get it now, and you never have to do them again.” Alongside this another user also recommended that Blizzard “should also consider just having monster kills grant 1-2 renown or something. WoW rep grinds did that, and Diablo is made for it – the game is all about just killing boatloads of monsters.”
Overall many players believe it just makes sense for Events, Legions, and Helltides to give renown with user Metfansc saying, “Thankfully Lilith statues are for future seasons. You can grab them again for renown, but hopefully, they solve the renown grind in seasons because what we have here is legit terrible.”
