Looking to find out when the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion release date will be? Here’s what we know so far. The player base has predictably been eager to learn more about the upcoming DLC after Blizzard initially announced it during BlizzCon 2023. Luckily, the brief showcase had plenty to tell about the game’s next storyline, all of which we’ll be covering below.

Of course, before you dive into the first expansion, we recommend making your way through the Diablo 4 acts list ahead of time. Once you’re done experiencing the game’s dark and dramatic plot, keep reading to find out when you can expect Blizzard to drop the Vessel of Hatred DLC.

Diablo 4 expansion release date

The Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion release date will take place in late 2024 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Production Directors Tiffany Wat and Chris Wilson confirmed the tentative launch window during their segment at BlizzCon 2023. Though they have yet to provide a specific drop date, we do expect them to make it available at some point between October and December, as this has often been the release window for high-profile games.

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion story

The Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred’s storyline will continue from where the base game’s campaign left off. This means we’ll finally get to learn more about the fate of Neyrelle after she goes on a journey to permanently take care of the crystal holding the sinister Mephisto. Naturally, this means you’ll also have the chance to explore an all-new area in Diablo 4 called Nahantu, which may already be familiar to hardcore series fans, as Blizzard also featured this location in Diablo 2.

Once the Blizzard releases the expansion, you will also be able to try out a new, never-before-seen Diablo 4 class that the developers haven’t included with any of the series’ previous installments. Unfortunately, this also means that the Paladin, Monk, and Blood Knight still won’t be making an appearance in Sanctuary. More specific details on the upcoming expansion remain scarce at the time of writing, but the game’s development team has promised to reveal more in the summer of next year.

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred trailers

Blizzard has only released one trailer for the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion so far, which they showed to the public as part of BlizzCon 2023. Though short, the clip at least provided fans with a glimpse of the new sprawling area called Nahantu as well as a spine-chilling soundbite from the Prime Evil, Mephisto.

That covers all we know so far about the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion release date. If you need help with the game, check out our guides on the Training Dummy location in Diablo 4, how to get Godslayer Crown in Diablo 4, and how to get Forgotten Souls in Diablo 4.
