The Diablo 4 Season 1 update has quickly become notorious throughout the community for a number of different reasons, and one of the latest causes for its increasing infamy is the inaccessibility of the first seasonal quest.

Based on several Reddit posts created by a handful of disgruntled users, it seems that the area surrounding the new mission is blocked by invisible walls that prevent players from talking to the NPC needed to begin the latest story arc. Based on a short clip attached with nmfpriv‘s thread, this bug starts taking effect once you reach the region where Cormond can be found and no amount of galloping with your Diablo 4 mount will allow you to get through it.

However, a commenter named OzoneTrip was seemingly able to get through the invisible barrier, though they did note that “there’s nothing in [the area], no enemies or quests” since the issue apparently stems from the region itself not loading any content. CyborgYeti then mentioned a solution for this ongoing problem as they said that “mounting up as you hit the barrier seemed to work.” This fix was then backed up by Sad-Statement-2677 after they said: “I ran into it and hopped on my horse, worked every time for me.”

Unfortunately, since the area itself is having trouble loading and displaying the new content, getting through the impassable abstract walls may be a futile act in the end as you still won’t be able to start the new Diablo 4 Season 1 quest even if you do so. Hopefully, the hardworking development team can introduce a definitive fix for it soon as most of the players that have been stuck waiting in long queues will undoubtedly want to begin exploring all of the new content on offer.
