The Diablo 4 Season 1 update’s influence has now fully taken hold of Sanctuary and every individual located within this demon-filled land is undoubtedly feeling the effects of the latest patch. Unfortunately, the changes that have been brought in haven’t exactly been a pleasant experience for all parties involved as many within the community, including one well-known Twitch streamer, have found everything to be worse than it was before.

Upon the patch’s release ahead of the Diablo 4 Season 1 start date, Zack Hoyt, more popularly known as Twitch streamer Asmongold, wasted no time in creating a review of what he called “the biggest downgrade Diablo 4 has ever seen.” In a video posted through his official YouTube channel, Hoyt would start the clip out by saying that “everything is worse” after the update was launched on July 18th.

He would then go on to note that the update made everything harder since all of the menial tasks that you could do before, like leveling up through Nightmare Dungeons and farming for loot in Helltides, now take much longer due to the heavy experience nerf and the Cinder drop rate bug that’s currently plaguing the game. Of course, the latter issue is set to be fixed soon according to community manager Adam Fletcher and Diablo 4 general manager Rod Fergusson, but it still hasn’t stopped players from becoming frustrated at the other unnecessary changes that were made.

Over on Reddit, a majority of the disgruntled Diablo 4 player base has seemingly agreed with Asmongold’s statements as a post by mangoheap called the Twitch streamer’s opening remarks on the Season 1 update an “accurate summary of [the] patch.” Some commenters, like Carcinog3n, are hoping that this will force other prominent streamers “to throw Blizzard under the bus 24/7 for this patch,” though they are aware that “there will be some shills out there that won’t.”

Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long for the development team’s reaction to these scathing comments as they have already announced a Campfire Chat live stream on July 21st, a day after Diablo 4 Season 1 officially begins. Hopefully, this will give the community more clarity on why some of these decisions were made. Otherwise, some may just stop playing the game completely once the dust has settled.
