Diablo 4 developer Blizzard has announced that they’ll be releasing an amended top 1000 hardcore list after the many complaints they received from numerous disgruntled players. It’s currently unclear when the re-compiled record will be shared to the public, however, this should still come as good news to those that were disappointed at being excluded even after sharing their achievements early on.

According to a post from the game’s official Twitter account, Blizzard will review “some of the forgotten souls whose achievements slipped through the crack due to entry error,” which means we may not see the revised tally until after the Diablo 4 Season 1 start date. But despite the extended wait, player reaction surrounding this announcement has predictably been positive so far as one user named healer_wild noted that “even if it results in more than 1000 names, this is the right call.”

For those unfamiliar with the ongoing controversy surrounding the Diablo 4 hardcore list, the issue began when the developers first revealed the complete tally of race winners that featured several high-profile streamers like cArn and shroud. Unfortunately, numerous casual players that submitted their own accomplishments early on in the competition were surprisingly omitted from the list, prompting some disappointed players to head to social media in an effort to bring attention to the issue.

Luckily, it seems that these players’ attempts to put the developers on notice have now borne fruit as most of the names that were previously excluded may finally be immortalized on the towering statue of Lilith on the Blizzard campus. While you wait to check if your names been included in the Diablo 4 amended hardcore list, though, check out our guides on the best Barbarian build, the best Necromancer build, and the best dungeons to farm so you can keep enjoying the game’s content in the meantime.
