Destiny’s famed merchant Xur is back for his first appearance in Destiny 2, and he wants to make sure you don’t go barking up the wrong tree. The tentacle-faced merchant can be found chilling in a certain rouge woody perennial plant on Nessus, and if you’ve already been there you’ll know exactly which one we’re talking about. He’ll be found in this location for the next 48-hours, so you’ve got a bit of time to clamber up there and conduct some trade.
Just like in the original Destiny, Xur has a number of exotic items he’s willing to trade with you, as long as you’ve got enough shards. Xur is aware of the current global economic climate and his wares this time around are fairly reasonably priced, and good news Strange Coins aren’t required this time around. Players can pick up the Merciless fusion rifle for 29 legendary shards, or some armour and gauntlets for 23 shards. Everything Xur is selling has a power level of 270, so it’s not much to scoff at if you’re at a decent raid-level, as per usual the gear being sold covers each class.
This is the first of Xur’s weekly appearances in the game, and he’ll be back on his weekly jaunt to sell players even more helpful items throughout the lifecycle of Destiny 2.
On another note, Bungie released a teaser trailer for Trials of the Nine, and it’d be nice to find out more about Xur’s past as an agent of the Nine. Trials of Nine goes live at 6pm BST today, so perhaps we’ll know more then.
