A Destiny 2 Season of the Deep sneak peek has now been provided by the developers as part of their weekly blog segment entitled This Week at Bungie (TWAB). Based on their latest post, several changes are being introduced with the next chapter, including an overhauled and much simpler economy, buffs to underutilized subclasses, and more.

A significant economy change that’s set to arrive is the removal of Legendary Shard crafting costs, which means that you’ll no longer need to know what the best way to get Legendary Shards is. However, the developers have noted that they won’t be modifying the weapon Masterwork economy yet, so you’ll still need to learn how to get Ascendant Shards for these upgrades.

In addition to these key economy improvements, new Strand Aspects are also being brought in for each respective subclass in the game. Hunter Threadrunners will be getting the Threaded Specter, which is activated whenever you use your class ability. This leaves behind a Strand decoy that releases Threadlings after taking significant damage so you can defeat enemies even after dodging.

Titan Berserkers are getting the Flechette Storm, which allows you to leap up into the air to knock down and damage enemies by using your melee ability. Using your charged melee ability again while airborne will then “launch a cluster of damaging, Unraveling projectiles.” Last but not least, Warlock Broodweavers are acquiring The Wanderer, which gives you the ability to suspend enemies when you throw Tangles at them. This aspect also turns Threadling final blows into Tangles, making it even more potent.

Bungie is also making a few crucial enhancements to several Supers, “including a nice buff to damage resistance and damage dealt in PvE.” This should especially come in handy with the added Triumphs to new raids and dungeons that will apparently “give a boosted chance to receive the Exotic weapon drop for that raid or dungeon once completed.”

There are a variety of other changes that are set to arrive, which you’ll be able to check out in the official developer blog post.
