Earlier this week, Bungie released the patch notes for Destiny 2 update 8.1.5. This started Act II of Revenant, and there were a lot of details included in the patch. Following the update’s release, Bungie has assured Destiny 2 players that a fix is incoming for an unintended benefit from the increase to Super energy gains.
Fans of Bungie have a lot to anticipate. While players are not happy with a “depressing” nerf part of update 8.1.5, there is plenty else going on in the Destiny universe. Bungie has shared the Year 11 roadmap of planned content for 2025 up until 2026, and next year should see the release of the mobile spin-off, Destiny Rising.
We are looking forward to Year 11, but right now we’re still enjoying Bungie’s latest patch. Most of the patch has been received well by the community, but there has been an issue Bungie are looking to address next month.
Destiny 2 fix is incoming for unintended Super energy gains increase benefit
On the official Destiny2Team X account, Bungie shared a message to the community saying, “We’re aware of an issue where the Celestial Nighthawk Golden Gun variant is benefiting from the recent increase in Super energy gains meant only for “roaming” Supers”.
As stated by Bungie, “This is not intended”. We don’t have a specific date for when the fix will drop, but Bungie are “targeting a fix for early December”.
While it is only an issue for the Celestial Nighthawk Golden Gun variant, below are the Super energy gains increases listed for Hunter, Titan, and Warlock in the 8.1.5 patch notes:
Hunter:
Arc Staff, Golden Gun, Spectral Blades, Silkstrike
- Increased Super energy gains per damage event against PvE combatants by roughly 3x.
Warlock:
Stormtrance, Daybreak, Nova Warp, Winder’s Wrath
- Increased Super energy gains per damage event against PvE combatants by roughly 3x.
Titan:
Fist of Havok, Burning Maul, Hammer of Sol, Sentinel Shield, Glacial Quake, Bladefury
- IncreasedSuper energy gains per damage event against PvE combatants by roughly 3x.
