Publisher Tripwire Interactive has announced it’ll be bringing multiplayer espionage game Deceive Inc. to consoles and PC early next year.

Deceive Inc. puts you in the role of a spy, who’s thrown into a map with a well-guarded objective. You can disguise yourself as anyone you meet in the maps, and have access to a bunch of gadgets. The only problem is, there’s also several other player-controlled spies on the map who are also after the same objective. Only one of you can nab the McGuffin, escape and get paid the finder’s fee.

You’ll be able to pick from a roster of potential agents, each with their own skills and playstyle. Naturally, as super spies you’ll also have access to a loadout of unique gadgets you can use to aid in your mission. These include things like inflatable mats, holograms and bullet-proof umbrellas. It’ll be up to you whether you choose to sneak in and out undetected or actively neutralise your opponents, as long as you escape with the loot.

The game has been in development at Canadian outfit Sweet Bandits Studios since around early 2019. The latter has now entered into what they’re calling a “strategic partnership” with Tripwire Presents to complete the game and launch it in early 2023. As a result, there’ll be more updates on the game akin to a more detailed reveal promised in the near future.

In the meantime, we’re told Deceive Inc. will launch in “early 2023” on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
