Publisher Devolver Digital has put out a trailer to mark today’s launch of Death’s Door on PlayStation consoles and Switch.

The game puts you in the feathery boots of a Crow who’s job it is to ferry the souls of the recently deceased to the afterlife. However, once your most recently assigned soul is stolen it’s up to you to get it back. You’ll chase this soul thief across a mystical world untouched by death. Unfortunately for you, it seems the lack of death has allowed this realm’s denizens to grow in greed and power.

Death’s Door is a game that’s been getting a lot of critical praise and awards. These include a INDIE Live Expo Winter 2021 award, and a nomination for Best Indie Games at this year’s The Game Awards. We’ll find out if it takes home a trophy there in December. Developer Acid Nerve was previously responsible for 2015’s rather excellent Titan Souls. You can check out what we made of that game at the time right over this way.

For now, you can check out the trailer for yourself down below. Death’s Door is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Alternatively, it’s been available on PC, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One since July.
