Dead By Daylight fans have a huge May 2025 to enjoy. The anniversary livestream is happening very soon, and it will finally reveal details about the highly-anticipated FNAF Chapter, of which the PTB is scheduled to come out in May, too. There’s also the release of new survivor, Orela Rose. While FNAF and Orela Rose are both exciting, there’s also possibility we could get the return of 2v8 mode in Dead By Daylight with two new killers and “no bots”.

BeHaviour tease return of Dead By Daylight 2v8 mode in May

As part of a survey screenshotted and shared on the BeHaviour Interactive forums, the development team is close to bringing back 2v8 mode to Dead By Daylight.

For the survey, the developer asks DBD fans if they would like to see the return of 2v8 mode in May with the following conditions:

  • Addition of The Ghost Face & The Oni
  • Addition of the Fog Crystal, a Void Crystal variant
  • No bots in the lobby
  • No BP event. Incentives will depend on the role ratio, ranging from 50% to 400%, but not locked at 400%
  • No XP boosts
  • Killer wait time probably similar to the last 2v8 iteration

It seems as though 2v8 mode will only return in May if the majority vote yes rather than no. BeHaviour says they are “working on a solution to help alleviate Killer wait time but this solution would come later”.

While it still remains to be seen if we get 2v8 mode or not this month, the addition of The Ghost Face and The Oni as new killers is good news. So too is “No bots in the lobby” as there was a lot of controversy and uproar about the use of bots back in February.
