Dead By Daylight 2v8 mode is back! It is now BeHaviour’s third iteration of the LTM, and it’s the best version yet thanks to the Resident Evil theme with Nemesis and Wesker added as the first licensed killers. In addition to the onus on Resident Evil, fans might not be aware the mode also now includes bots. BeHaviour has explained why Dead By Daylight 2v8 mode now has bots, along with clarifying when they are used.
Why Dead By Daylight 2v8 mode has bots
Unlike the first two iterations of the LTM, Dead By Daylight 2v8 mode now has bots. As revealed in an article by Epic Games, it is two survivor bots only, so it is not for killers.
Upon the announcement of bots, there was some backlash with few online dubbing the mode 2v6 instead of 2v8. In response to a query from prominent leaker, Dvveet, BeHaviour clarified the situation.
Epic’s article said bots will be “added to every lobby,” but this is not the case. One or two survivor bots will be added at maximum, and they will only be used when necessary to “reduce the wait time for all players”.
In addition, bots are also being used to “alleviate long Killer queues”. Long Killer queues has been a frequent complaint about each iteration of 2v8 mode, so hopefully adding bots helps the situation.
This version of 2v8 mode will only be available until February 25th. BeHaviour has previously discussed possibly making the mode permanent, but there’s no assurances it will ever happen.
Alongside the return of 2v8, there’s also new skins for all of the Resident Evil characters in DBD. These include Wesker and Ada Wong from the Resident Evil 4 Remake, Leon from RE6, and the superior classic Nemesis from RE3. There’s also fetching new outfits for Jill Valentine and Rebecca Chambers.
