The Dead By Daylight Year 9 anniversary livestream was fantastic. We got the reveal of a collaboration with The Witcher 3, and we also got hints that two mysterious licensed survivors arriving in July might be from The Walking Dead. However, the biggest part of the show was definitely the reveal of the DBD Five Nights At Freddy’s Chapter. Previously, BeHaviour suggested that the public-test build would come out in May, but now a Dead By Daylight dev has suggested the FNAF PTB will “probably” come out later than expected.
Dead By Daylight FNAF PTB might not come out in May
Prior to the start of the Dead By Daylight Year 9 anniversary stream, BeHaviour Interactive community manager, Eric Pope, was asked on X if the FNAF PTB would come out the same day as the stream, meaning May 9th. Pope responded, “nope, later in the month. the schedule is a bit earlier this year than normal”.
This response from the community manager suggested that the Five Nights At Freddy’s public-test build would come out later in May, with most guesses being May 27th. However, the community manager has now suggested that the playable build for Steam users won’t arrive until next month.
In a response to a user asking when is the stream that will showcase Springtrap’s powers and perks, Pope said, “No date yet probably early June”. This is significant as the PTB will come out the same day as BeHaviour’s impending stream showcasing Springtrap’s abilities.
This doesn’t confirm the demo will come out in June, but it’s looking likely. There’s no concrete date as of writing, but the best estimates right now are May 27th and June 3rd.
If it comes out on May 27th, the likely release date for the full chapter is June 17th, meanwhile, if the PTB launches on June 3rd, the full release is likely June 24th. All we know from the Year 10 roadmap definitively is that the chapter is launching on all platforms in June.
