Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator behind the Dark Souls franchise and director on the upcoming Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, has said he's interested in making a battle royale game at some point.

'These games are definitely fun,' Miyazaki-san told the Telegraph. 'And we’re interested in the patterns they are taking. If we did it, it might be a bit different! But we’re definitely interested and there’s definitely that possibility in the future. We’d love to take a crack at them some day.'

Battle royale is all the craze right now, with games like Apex Legends, Fortnite, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds some of the most popular games on the planet. Respawn's Apex Legends, for example, has attracted 50 million players in just one month, and Fortnite counts Drake among its many celebrity fans.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is due out on March 22 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
