A demo of Cyberpunk 2077 shown at PAX Australia has revealed two new abilities to take out enemies and turn the tide in battle: ‘Demon Software’ and ‘Nano Wire’ (via Gamespot).

Though Night City will be a dinkier map than that of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, each and every corner will be crammed with content for the player to explore. ‘‘It’s an integral part of the setting; it’s essentially a protagonist if you want to call it that,’ Cyberpunk 2077 producer Richard Borzymowski said, ‘So it has to be denser. It wouldn't give us the end effect we wanted to achieve if the city wouldn't be believable […] so we packed it full of life.’

But, it does mean that Night City is packed with life that isn’t so kind to player character, V. Each enemy will have different abilities and strengths subject on their cybernetic augmentations. In the demo shown at PAX Australia, V will in fact be able to use these for their own gain. ‘Demon Software’ is a hacking tool that will cause an enemy to attack itself. V used this ability on a baddie’s robo-arm and it began to fiercely batter the enemy’s body. Quite the distraction.

And, ‘Nano Wire’ sounds a lot like ‘Domino’ from Dishonored 2. The ‘Nano Wire’ is a golden orange cable that links V to characters dotted about Night City, but it could be used for another purpose. It seems to act like a lasso and slashes enemies to take them down. Dishonored 2’s ‘Domino’ ability would connect multiple non-playable characters together and whatever Emily did to one, all would share the fate. If Cyberpunk 2077’s ‘Nano Wire’ acts similarly, V could stealthily shut down a cluster of foes in a split second and creep past unnoticed.

Cyberpunk 2077 will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 2020, and on Google Stadia at a later date. Keanu Reeves is in it, but in terms of romance options, he is off the market
