Dark Passenger is a new game studio, comprising developers who worked on Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

In the studio’s own words:

“Dark Passenger is a polish, warsaw-based game development studio. Our team is made of gamedev veterans and fresh blood specialists.”

The news made its way onto Twitter earlier in the week—as highlighted by Shinobi602. Check out the new Dark Passenger website. On there, you will see that the studio is at work on its first game:

“A captivating, dark world full of mysteries, extraordinary characters and tense conflicts that are consuming the Land of the Rising Sun.”

This game, set in Feudal Japan, is in first-person. It will feature PvP and PvE multiplayer, co-op play, and it is powered by Unreal Engine 5. (Unreal Engine 5 is very pretty, indeed.) The developers have also said that the game will include some form of procedural generation.

Also, players will be able to scale vertical surfaces, using shuko claws; leap over obstacles, using a spear; and wield all manner of weaponry. Katanas, shuriken and throwing knives will all be available.

We don’t yet have any news on a release window yet. But we do know that it will be out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
