Developer CD Projekt Red has said that players will be able to finish Cyberpunk 2077 without actually killing anyone.
When the game was shown at last year’s E3, Cd Projekt said that the game couldn’t be completed as a pacifist. Now, in response to feedback from the demo, the developer has made it possible.
In an interview with VG247, lead quest designer Pawel Sasko said, ‘We were like, “we can cover it actually, it’s just a bit more work, and when we can figure it out” and we made the decision, okay, fxxx it, just let’s support it completely, in every quest, every side quest, minor quest, every street story, absolute, literally in every possible scenario, you don’t have to kill.’
So there you have it; you can, if your heart so desires, hack and talk and sneak your way to victory. And even though the following thought is absolutely untrue, I like to think that the mere presence of Keanu Reeves inspired the designers to make the most chill, zen way of doing things possible.
