This Cyber Monday deal is what I’ve needed to justify buying the Apple AirPods Max

Since they came out back in 2020, the AirPods Max have screamed luxury high-end, with cinematic spatial audio, noise cancellation and an impressive 20 hours of battery life. The problem? They usually cost $549. You can imagine the excitement when I spotted the AirPods Max for $100 cheaper, meaning they now cost $449 – an easier price to swallow, and an all-time low for this season.

Despite the sky-high price, the AirPods Max sold out in a flash and we have similar expectations for this AirPods deal. Expect superb bass, treble, and high-fidelity audio. One of the most popular features is probably its Active Noise Cancellation feature which produces sound with ultra-low distortion across the audible range. You’ll appreciate this feature most during a busy daily commute or a long haul flight when all you want is a bit of peace and quiet.

AirPods Max

Active Noise cancelling, Adjustable headband, Bluetooth, 20 hours battery life, Carrying Case, Voice-activated microphone, Sound isolating, Mesh ear cushion material

If you want something high-end but Apple’s premium price tag is a bit much, then Bose’s QuietComfort Ultra headphones are a good compromise, now costing just $250 in a similar Cyber Monday deal. While that’s a pretty chunky price difference, there is a disadvantage if you’re an Apple user for more than one device. Going for a pair of AirPods means they can change seamlessly between your devices – something that my AudioTechnica headphones have always struggled with. It’s not a deciding factor, but something to bear in mind if you’re wondering why Apple is charging so much.

Obviously, the design is iconic, featuring big memory foam ear cushions and a knit-mesh headband that can be adjusted for the comfiest fit. The choice of five rather classy colours is also welcome which include Space Grey, Green, Sky Blue and more.

Finally, if you’re still not convinced by this Cyber Monday deal, you can cop a pair of renewed AirPods Max for just $369 which will soften the financial blow. Overall though, a brand new pair of reduced AirPods sounds like a great deal and early Christmas treat which you won’t regret.
