Counter-Strike: Source players eagerly awaiting a new update can rejoice, as Valve have released a new update to the game, giving players bot support and a remake of the map de_tides.

The bots are meant to play the game as your average Counter-Strike player would, not always being a crack shot and occasionally not seeing where the opponents are. We haven’t had a chance to try this out yet, but reports on the new addition are a pretty mixed bunch. However, the addition of bots is sure to please some people, and will give new players a chance to improve their skills without being called a “noob.”

The latest map to be added, de_tides is a reworking by Turtlerock Studios, which should keep fans happy for a while. In addition to this new map a new version of de_dust2 has been added which includes support for up to 40 players. There are also a number of bug fixes, hopefully making the game more enjoyable for all players, and the game will kick players who idle for long periods or kill hostages in a deliberate way.

For more details on the bots you can check out the Counter-Strike: Source bots page.
