Reverse-horror offering Carrion is coming to PlayStation 4 later this year, developer Phobia Game Studio and publisher Devolver Digital have announced.

The game, which originally launched for Xbox and PC last year, sees you play as a sentient blob of flesh trapped in a lab. After breaking free, you’ll use your tentacles to wreak revenge and devour the poor scientists who’ve been experimenting on you. Their bodies will make a tasty treat as you explore and escape the facility.

Along the way, you’ll also come across various upgrades and new abilities that you’ll use to access new areas. Flashbacks fill in the blanks of your origins in the story, and you’ll return to explore previously inaccessible parts of the lab. As enemies get tougher, you too will have to change your tactics in order to consume their flesh.

We had a good time with Carrion in our original review from last year. Josh said: “Carrion abounds with the thrills of being the monster, then, but, less common and more cosy, with the kick of being in a monster movie—of slithering in celebration over the tropes of the genre.”

You can check out a launch trailer for the game below. A specific date hasn’t been given at the time of writing, but expect Carrion to land on PlayStation 4 later in 2021.
