Carmageddon: Reincarnation has reached its Kickstarter goal of $400,000 with nine days remaining for even more fund raising.

“Carmageddon Reincarnation encapsulates all that is wrong – and therefore right – with video games. We will stay true to Carmageddon’s roots while adding a ton more over-the-top, outrageous content,” said Stainless Games co-founder Neil ‘Nobby’ Barnden when the project launched.

Kickstarter backers will receive a wide range of reward items, including the chance to appear in the game.

Stainless will be reprising classic environments, cars, drivers and power ups from the original games, adding new elements to the mix too.

Release #1 is scheduled to launch in February 2013, with backers of $15 or more receiving this release plus all subsequent releases.

If Stainless manages to raise enough funds it will roll out the game across more platforms. The total currently stands at $421,000.
