The look of Call of Duty cosmetics often sparks debate among players loading into Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Some Operator skins resemble more traditional military attire while others feature incredibly bright colour combinations that make it extremely easy for you to spot while roaming the virtual battlefield.
While some skins result in invisibility issues, others are so bright that they put you at a disadvantage even before a match has begun. The latest skin to divide players has appeared and it’s the most obvious example of paying to lose rather than to win and gain an advantage.
This Call of Duty skin makes you lose
Available as part of the Tracer Pack: Inner Sight store bundle, the Irradiated skin transforms players into a luminous blue figure complete with purple armour plates and yellow magazines resulting in those with the skin becoming the easiest object to see on the map.

Costing 2,400 CoD Points, the bundle also features weapon blueprints, a new Finishing Move, and a Double XP token which is bound to prove useful when an event isn’t active. Players have already criticised the aesthetics of the Irradiated skin, with many asking why Russell Adler is yet to receive any kind of cosmetics.
Adler is one of the main characters from the Black Ops Cold War and Black Ops 6 single-player stories. Considering other characters from Zombies and the campaign have a variety of skins to purchase, the lack of Adler content is starting to frustrate franchise fans.
Has Treyarch lost its touch?
Treyarch often takes note of issues concerning players and quickly addresses them before any problem becomes widespread. The backlash towards the Irradiated skin shows frustration not only lies with the lack of communication and anti-cheat measures but with Treyarch becoming an out-of-touch developer who’s refusing to listen to its harshest critic.
Only time will tell if it can turn the situation around and stop Call of Duty fans looking elsewhere for their fix of fast-paced, first-person shooter action.
