Saug is the fresh new SMG added to Black Ops 6 with Season 1. You need to reach and complete page 3 of the Season 1 Battle Pass to unlock the weapon. With it in hand, you will have a submachine gun with a very high rate of fire and respectable firepower – but only at close range. The best loadout for Saug leans into the weapon’s strengths, transforming it into a pair of melting rattling death spewers. We’ll explain how to make that build happen.
- Very high fire rate
- Decent damage
- Excellent mobility
- High recoil when spraying
- Only really viable at close range
Best Black Ops 6 Saug attachments
With this build, the goal is to maximize Saug’s offensive capabilities and lean into, frankly, the chaos this weapon brings. It’s fun and surprisingly strong – with the right attachments. Here’s what you should look to unlock:
Weapon part | Attachment | Unlock level |
---|---|---|
Muzzle | Ported Compensator | Level 28 |
Barrel | Reinforced Barrel | Level 36 |
Magazine | Extended Mag I | Level 33 |
Rear Grip | Ergonomic Grip | Level 26 |
Stock | Akimbo Saug | Level 39 |
If you need help aiming while running, sliding, and diving, then consider switching the Extended Mag I for a laser attachment. We suggest adding the Fast Motion Laser in that case.
This build lets you stay mobile and able to take down scores of enemies with the right movement pattern. You will have plenty of bullets before even needing to reload, thanks to the Extended Mag I that increases your magazine to a whopping 90 (factoring in akimbo). Then, the Ported Compensator muzzle servers to reduce the gun’s high recoil, keeping it somewhat controllable. The Reinforced Barrel is there to give the gun an extra oomph of power, increasing its damage and therefore its TTK. The Ergonomic Grip is a great addition to the gun’s playstyle, improving your Omnimovement through slide and dive to fire speed, and most importantly, ADS speed. Lastly, the fan-favourite Akimbo Stock lets you dual-wield these little monsters – essentially doubling everything above. Just remember to use both fire and alt-fire buttons to burst with both sprays.

Best Black Ops 6 Saug perks and equipment
With the best attachments in place, now’s the time to select your Perks and other equipment. Here’s what we recommend you get to go along with dual Saugs.
Perks
- Perk 1: Bruiser
- Perk 2: Dexterity
- Perk 3: Double Time
- Wildcard: Overkill
With this build, we’re going after red perks to get the Enforcer Combat Specialty. Bruiser lets you regenerate some health from melee kills – you’ll have plenty of opportunities for those with how close you want to play anyway. Dexterity improves your mobility while wielding your guns, perfectly slotting into the playstyle. And Double Time lets you Tac Sprint longer, letting you close the distance that much quicker. Put all together and they form the Enforcer specialty, which grants you movement and health regen speed buffs after scoring kills. Finally, pick up Overkill as your Wildcard, which lets you swap out your secondary for a full-blown gun.
Equipment
- Lethal: Semtex
- Tactical: Stim Shot
- Field Upgrade: Tactical Insertion
- Secondary: XM4
Semtex is perfect to throw and create space for you to move in, along with its great damage and stickiness. Stim Shot will keep you going after intense firefights and give you that extra boost of health when you need it. And Tactical Insertion lets you spawn a bit closer to the enemy – a perfect upgrade to put you in the best position to frag out even more. For your secondary, pick up the XM4, thanks you the Wildcard. This will give you some much-needed mid to long-range capacity. If you need even more than that, you can pick up AMES 85 instead.
Best alternatives to Saug
Playing Akimbo Saugs is extremely fun, but if you’re looking for something similar though with a higher degree of control, you can’t go wrong with the Jackal PDW. Similarly, the PP-919 is another good option in the SMG class. For longer-range combat while keeping with SMGs, you should look into building a Tanto .22.
With that, your Saug loadout for Black Ops 6 is complete. Make sure to check out our other loadout guides, like the one for the SWAT 5.56 or for the ever-popular shotty, Marine SP.
