As with every year, there will be a new Call of Duty installment for 2025. The latest installment is Black Ops 6, and it was the first day-one CoD release to join Xbox Game Pass in a move that will continue on in the future. We should start receiving official news about Activision’s next release sometime in the summer, but right now Call of Duty 2025 leaks have revealed “out there” zombie maps, including Japan and New York.
Call of Duty 2025 zombie maps leak
Call of Duty 2025 is another installment spearheaded by Treyarch Games. The game is reportedly a Black Ops 2 sequel, and there will be the return of zombies.
As revealed in an exclusive from Insider Gaming by renwowned leaker Tom Henderson, there are plans for several round-based zombie maps in the new CoD. According to Henderson, during early development, the plan for zombies was to build maps from the ground up so they can be played in different modes such as outbreak, grift, and round-based.
In relation to the setting of the maps, it’s claimed that Treyarch were aiming for more “out there” locales. Settings specifically cited by Henderson include a “map set in post-WW2 New York where the Nazi’s had dropped a nuclear bomb,” as well as another map “described as being set in a Japanese temple at the foot of an erupting volcano”.
Alongside Japan and New York, there were also ideas of a Vietnam, Afghanistan, and a space station map in the Dark Aether. Lastly, Call of Duty 2025 will reportedly have one of the biggest maps to date, which will have a “similar transportation system to Tranzit”.
None of the above is official, and they are said to have been ideas, so it’s not clear if they will all make the final cut. Zombie maps set in such wildly different and outlandish scenarios sounds fantastic, so hopefully these leaks come to fruition.
