According to IGN, Criterion is currently working on Burnout for the Xbox 360; the US site has had confirmation from an Electronic Arts spokesperson. Exact details on the game are sparse, with a rough March 2006 release date the only known info.

While the March release doesn’t give the guys at Criterion very long, they should be able to produce something a little better than Burnout Revenge ported to the new Microsoft console. We can only assume that we’ll get a graphically enhanced compilation of the Burnout series, with time being saved reusing existing track and city designs. A nicer looking Burnout Revenge would be nice, but a little disappointing.

We’ll bring you more news on Burnout for the Xbox 360 as soon as EA officially make an announcement. Burnout Legends for the PSP is released on September 16th and Burnout Revenge for Xbox and PlayStation 2 is due on September 23rd.
