A voice actor in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 has let some character details slip, during an interview.
Don’t enter the next paragraph—or, indeed, the rest of the article—if you wish to remain completely unspoiled.
Pietro Ubaldi, who voiced Daruk, a bearded and kindly Goron, in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild spoke to Lega Hyrule. (Thanks, Recetera). Ubaldi let slip that he would be voicing another Goron character, who is one of Daruk’s ancestors. Who, Ubaldi said, was “more serious” than Daruk.
When asked if this ancestor was Darunia, Ubaldi specified that it was not. When pressed for other details, Ubaldi said that he couldn’t remember the character’s name.
Ubaldi did also say that he would be voicing Daruk, as well. This is slightly odd, given that Daruk is dead. Perhaps it could be a dream sequence? Or the a version of Goron heaven? Who knows.
Breath of the Wild 2 was recently delayed until Spring 2023. Series producer Eiji Aonuma announced the delay in a short video statement to fans on the Nintendo YouTube channel.
He didn’t offer much by way of specific reasons: “In order to make this game’s experience something special, the entire development team is continuing to work diligently on this game, so please wait a while longer.”
