April 2025 is quite possibly one of the best-ever months for PS Plus subscribers. Not only does the current Essential batch include the brilliant RoboCop Rogue City, but this month Extra subscribers are getting two day-one releases instead of just one. The release date and time countdown for when Blue Prince will come out on PS Plus for free and PC Steam is nearly over, and fans should be excited.

Blue Prince release date

The release date for Blue Prince is April 10th. This is confirmed on both the PSN store as well as the game’s official Steam page.

This game has been highly-anticipated ever since it was showcased in 2024. Even before its arrival, former Sony Interactive Entertainment President, Shuhei Yoshida, hyped the game as a GOTY contender, and it seems he wasn’t wrong as it is the best reviewed game of 2025 so far.

When does Blue Prince come out on PS Plus and PC Steam?

The release time for when Blue Prince will come out on PC Steam is 7AM PT/10 AM ET/3PM BST on April 10th. This comes courtesy of the community manager on the game’s official Discord.

As for when Bue Prince will come out on PS Plus, the PSN store shows a release time of 8AM PT/11AM ET/4PM BST. It’s possible the PSN store is wrong, but it’s what is currently listed. If you are planning to play on PS5, just expect it to come out at either of the above launch hours listed.

Unfortunately, while we don’t know all the additions, we do know the following are leaving Extra:

  • Animal Well (Extra)
  • Tales of Kenzera Zau (Extra)
  • Nour Play With Your Food (Extra)
  • Deliver Us Mars (Extra)
  • Misama Chronicles (Extra)
  • Stray Blade (Extra)
  • Kena Bridge of the Spirits (Extra)
  • Slay The Spire (Extra)

Is it Steam Deck verified?

While the game is not officially verified for Steam Deck, it is rated as “playable” on the Valve Steam page. It is listed with the following pros and cons:

  • Pro – All functionality is accessible when using the default configuration
  • Pro – The game shows controller icons
  • Pro – The game’s default graphics configuration works well on Steam Deck
  • Con – Some in-game text is small and may be difficult to read

Also, per SteamDeckHQ in their glowing review, the game is a “joy to play on the Steam Deck,” and “It can run nicely at 60 FPS for the most part”. However, while it can run at 60FPS, SteamDeckHQ recommend “setting a 45 FPS limit” because “The battery drain is a bit on the high side at times,” and there are “minor drops” that happen “when turning around in crowded rooms and running through the house”.
