It’s been a mixed month for PS Plus subscribers as while the addition of Blue Prince as a day-one release was fantastic, fans have been frustrated by the price increases. Following off the back of the price increases that have come into motion, fans are hoping Sony have a good lineup planned for May. Sony will pull the curtain aside very soon, and it’s possible a huge PS Plus May 2025 free game has leaked ahead of the official reveal.
PS Plus May 2025 free game possibly leaked
The PS Plus May 2025 Essential free games are set to come out on May 6th as confirmed in Sony’s PlayStation Blog post announcing the Essential freebies for April. This means the Essential selection for next month should be revealed on April 30th.
While we still have a couple of days to wait for the three freebies of next month to be revealed, it’s possible one of the giveaways has already leaked. As relayed by IGN, on Reddit, OP Budget-Neat4570, noticed that the Until Dawn Remake was highlighted on the PS Plus Monthly Games tab.
The Until Dawn Remake only just recently came out at the end of 2024, so it would be a relatively recent giveaway provided it is one of the Essential offerings. It would also make sense as a giveaway as the Until Dawn movie has just recently come out in cinemas on April 25th.
Alas, this is by no means confirmation that we are getting the Until Dawn Remake next month. If it were to be one of the Essential games, it would be good for subscribers who have never played Until Dawn before, but it would be disappointing for owners of the original as the remake is inferior despite its prettier visuals.
Aside from the possible leak and tie-in with the newly released movie, another reason the Until Dawn Remake could possibly be given away next month is because it performed really poor at launch. Many considered the remake needless in the first place, and it reportedly flopped even worse than Concord.
Remember that the Until Dawn Remake is not official right now, and we will get confirmation of the three Essential games for PS Plus May 2025 on April 30th.
