Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 looks like another landmark entry in the franchise with a cinematic campaign and robust multiplayer. As if that wasn’t enough, a surprise is coming after the game’s launch, with a fan-favorite map potentially making its exciting comeback.

There’s been plenty to gush about with this new entry, with the recent multiplayer beta getting a ton of praise from those who’ve played it. Everything about the returning Zombies mode also looks quality, with a new map supposedly leaked for the first season.

Is Black Ops 6 bringing back this iconic map?

Forward Leaks tweeted that the current setup of Nuketown will be “getting several variants through its lifecycle,” hinting that the classic version could appear in Black Ops 6. Treyarch and Activision Blizzard haven’t confirmed this detail, but it wouldn’t be surprising since this is a live-service title.

The fact that this version of Nuketown will have several variants is interesting, teasing that the map can change depending on circumstances. Having different holiday-themed versions of the area makes sense, although a return to the original map is what fans want. With fan interest in the game at an all-time high, bringing the nostalgic map back with multiple iterations is a no-brainer.

Alongside the classic version of the iconic BLoPS map, we could see the return of Nuketown 2025 or even the minuscule Nukehouse from Black Ops Declassified. Now that would be hilarious.

Youtuber Espresso also feels that a return to the original Nuketown seems likely since every entry in the Black Ops series has some version of the map. The YouTuber points out that the original version of the map can be seen in the background of official Black Ops 6 images, despite not being officially part of the map list. Only time will tell if fans can visit that map, but there’s always a chance.

Call of Duty always adds new maps

Hypothetically speaking, even if Black Ops 6 doesn’t bring the original Nuketown back, fans can expect to see more maps added to the game post-launch. This series has always focused on multiplayer, so adding maps after launch is more than an educated wish from fans.

New maps were already added during the multiplayer beta, so the base game should get even more after launch. Going through the same areas in these entries can get dull after months of intense shooting, so a steady drop of new maps will help. Considering how Activision loves pushing Battle Passes and Season Passes, fresh levels are only part of what’s to come.
