Pete Hines, senior vice president of marketing and communications at Bethesda, has said that the company is 'still uncertain' if Rage 2 will come to Nintendo Switch.

While Bethesda has been a strong supporter for the Big N's hybrid powerhouse since its March 2017 launch, Hines pointed out that Rage 2 utilises a different game engine compared to the likes of Doom and Wolfenstein.

This makes things a lot more complicated when considering a Switch version of the upcoming shooter.

'We’ve talked about it, but it’s a completely different engine and tech. The nice thing about Doom, Wolf, and Doom Eternal is it all uses id Tech, Rage 2 uses Avalanche‘s engine, so it’s a different beast in terms of a seamless open world that you can play like that. We’ve talked about it some. Still uncertain whether that could ever work on the Switch,' he told DualShockers.

Rage 2 is due for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in spring 2019. It features a Collector's Edition with an ugly, talking head voiced by Andrew W.K.'s voice.
