EA and DICE have released a gameplay trailer for Battlefield 2042 Season 5 and the short video gave fans a look at the content that they can expect with the upcoming chapter. Of course, the update inevitably comes with more microtransactions in the form of a refreshed battle pass and new cosmetics. However, the biggest inclusion this time around is the return of a reworked Hourglass map.

Since initially being removed towards the beginning of the year, the developers have been hard at work in improving the Qatar-based map as many users had initially been complaining about its layout, lack of cover, and poor objective placement. Though the changes made to its design is currently unclear at the time of writing, the updates made should at least make this location more bearable compared to how it was before.

But aside from the return of Hourglass, a new map is also being introduced as part of Season 5 called Reclaimed. Based in the snow covered locale of Czechia, players that drop into this area will mainly be playing around an abandoned factory and a handful of desolate structures that will make it one of the more unique map offerings available. Of course, there’ll also be plenty of vehicles that operators can use, including the attack chopper included in the reveal trailer.

Several improvements have also been made to a handful of different land-based vehicles, including the LATV4 Recon, the EBAA Wildcat, and the M5C Bolte. According to DICE’s blog post, the enhancements they’ve made will highlight the strengths that these heavy pieces of machinery have, making them even more effective in specific scenarios.

If you want to get a sneak peek of the changes that have been made, then we suggest checking out the action-packed Battlefield 2042 Season 5 gameplay trailer.
