Larian Studios has now redeployed its Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix 4 update a mere day after rolling it back due to it causing the game to crash. All changes included with this patch, which, of course, includes the buff to Isobel, will now be accessible as soon as you install it and boot the game up. The save files that you previously recorded while the initial patch was released will now also be accessible now that the hotfix has been reinstated.

ORIGINAL STORY FOLLOWS: Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios has rolled back its recently released hotfix 4 after the team’s latest update apparently introduced new crashes to the game. Unfortunately, those that installed the update and saved the game afterwards will not be able to load these files until after the patch has been re-published, which means you may have to start over at a certain point again. Here’s hoping you didn’t just finish the fight against Ketheric Thorm as soon as the hotfix dropped.

Alas, now that hotfix 4 has been rolled back, this means that the update to Isobel will not be taking effect yet and the encounter at Baldur’s Gate 3 Last Light Inn will be as difficult as it was before. According to a Twitter post created by the developers themselves, this decision was apparently made “due to a build error causing new crashes.” Fortunately, Larian should be working on it already as they’ll be re-releasing it once they’ve “fixed the cause.”

Although this isn’t an ideal scenario for the critically acclaimed D&D-inspired creation, fans commenting under Larian’s post have unsurprisingly been forgiving as the content that Baldur’s Gate 3 has brought has naturally been enough to make them forget about this tiny mishap. Some, on the other hand, are simply lamenting the fact that they have to go through certain scenes again as one Twitter user had apparently reached Wyrm’s Crossing already before the unfortunate hotfix roll back.

With Larian Studios having largely been quick and efficient when it comes to dishing out these updates, though, we may not have to remain patient for too long until we see it reinstated. But while you wait, we recommend checking out our guides on Baldur’s Gate 3 companions, Baldur’s Gate 3 abilities, and Baldur’s Gate 3 romance in the meantime.
