Ubisoft has revealed a massive new expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla entitled Dawn of Ragnarok which will arrive in March.

It’s being billed as “the most ambitious expansion” in the series’ history. The 35-hour expansion will see Eivor embrace their destiny and become Odin, the Norse god of Battle and Wisdom. They’ll be facing down the combined forces of the frost giants of Jotunheim and the demons of Musphelheim.

Eivor’s son has been captured by the Jotnar, and that means they’ll have to travel to Svartleheim, an area said to be about a third of the size of the base game’s England map. Eivor will get a bunch of new powers they can rip from their enemies in a brand new gameplay system. Some of these include turning into a raven or even resurrecting felled foes to fight on your side.

If all that wasn’t enough, Ubisoft has also confirmed a special Assassin’s Creed Valhalla crossover DLC with previous game, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Both games will get a piece of the story, Those Who Are Treasured in the older game and A Fated Encounter in AC Valhalla. The quest will allow you to discover two new islands, and get exclusive rewards.

Ubisoft’s José Araiza has further teased to Eurogamer that there could be more Assassin’s Creed Crossover Stories in the future. He also confirmed there’ll be more DLC later in the year, including a brand new game mode. “There’s other stuff that we’re working on. We’re trying to keep it as much of a surprise as we can.”

Before then, the Dawn of Ragnarok will arrive in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on March 10, 2022. The first Assassin’s Creed Crossover Stories DLC launches tomorrow, December 14.
