Ubisoft has delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows into 2025. Following a quick cancellation of Tokyo Game Show previews for the upcoming game, Ubisoft is pushing back its open world game just months before release.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows new release date

Originally planned to release on November 15, 2024, the new Assassin’s Creed game will now release on February 14, 2025.

Following its last minute cancellation at Tokyo Game Show 2024, Ubisoft’s delay was meekly pushed out. The publisher has not given a reason for the game’s sizable delay, although some are citing performance issues as the reason.

However, with multiple previews already existing over the past year, it seems unlikely that performance is the culprit. Nevertheless, a few extra months of development for additional bug fixing and polish is never a bad thing.

We’ve reached out to Ubisoft for comment on the cause of the game’s delay.

PS5 Pro support?

With the sizable delay, Assassin’s Creed Shadows could also receive day one support for the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro. As the list of PS5 Pro enhanced games increases, Ubisoft will likely support the console in some form.

However, as the game was announced prior to the reveal of the PS5 Pro, there is currently no word on any enhancement. We’ve also reached out to Ubisoft for comment on this matter.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows now releases on February 14, 2025. The game is now one of two samurai-focused games releasing that year with the other being Sucker Punch’s phenomenal looking Ghost of Yotei
